At Aledo Soccer Club (ASC), we believe that excellence begins with character. The following Code of Conduct sets expectations for players, parents, coaches, and volunteers. As representatives of ASC, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, respect, and sportsmanship.
Player Conduct Players ›
Players agree to:
- Show respect to teammates, coaches, referees, and opponents at all times.
- Maintain a positive attitude on and off the field.
- Compete with honor, hustle, and humility.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and in full uniform.
- Follow the instructions of coaches and accept constructive feedback.
- Refrain from using profanity, bullying, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
Parent & Spectator Conduct Parents ›
Parents and spectators agree to:
- Encourage effort, improvement, and good sportsmanship over winning at all costs.
- Respect all coaches, referees, players, and other families.
- Refrain from coaching from the sidelines or criticizing decisions during games.
- Address concerns privately and constructively with coaches or board members.
- Support the values and mission of Aledo Soccer Club.
Coach Conduct Coaches ›
Coaches agree to:
- Serve as role models for professionalism, leadership, and
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all players.
- Prioritize long-term development over short-term results.
- Communicate respectfully with players, parents, referees, and staff.
- Adhere to ASCs curriculum and player development philosophy.
Enforcement of Code Discipline ›
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the Aledo SC Board of Directors. Disciplinary action may include verbal warnings, suspension, or removal from club participation depending on the severity and frequency of the offense. All members of the Aledo SC community are expected to read, understand, and abide by this Code. Together, we create a culture that we are proud of one that reflects our values and represents our town with pride.

Code of Conduct & Athlete Safety Policy
Zero Tolerance for Abuse
Aledo Soccer Club (ASC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth organization with a zero-tolerance stance toward abuse and misconduct in all programs and activities. ASC maintains nonprofit oversight and governance; day-to-day operations are provided under contract by Frontrunner Fieldhouse (FRFH). All ASC- and FRFH-affiliated adults are required to follow this policy.
Definitions
ASC Activity
Any ASC- or FRFH-operated, sponsored, or sanctioned soccer activity (training, games, clinics, tryouts, tournaments, leagues, travel, meetings, fundraising, community events, communications) and any role (coach, assistant, trainer, manager, ref assignor, board/committee member, volunteer, contractor, or adult with direct/indirect influence over a minor athlete).
1) Reporting Abuse or Suspicious Conduct ›
All ASC/FRFH staff, coaches, volunteers, and adults interacting with minor athletes must report suspected abuse/misconduct immediately. “Grooming” behaviors, boundary violations, and policy breaches must also be reported.
Report to any of the following (and escalate to authorities as required):
- Your Head Coach / Team Manager
- Club Director (see contacts at the end)
- ASC Executive Contact (See contacts at the end)
All reports are taken seriously and handled consistent with this policy and applicable law. Retaliation against reporters is strictly prohibited.
2) How to Report Suspected Child Abuse or Neglect (Texas) ›
Certain adults are mandated reporters. All ASC/FRFH personnel must report suspected child abuse/neglect within 24 hours of awareness.
Report to EACH of the following as applicable:
- Emergency / Local Law Enforcement: call 911 (imminent danger).
- Texas Abuse Hotline (DFPS): 1-800-252-5400 or org (24/7).
- ASC Club Director (see contacts at the end)
- S. Center for SafeSport: safesport.org/report-a-concern (sexual misconduct within Olympic/US Soccer movement).
Failure to report may carry criminal penalties. When in doubt—report.
3) Enforcement›
Supervisors and team/club leaders are responsible for enforcing this policy. Violations may result in immediate suspension from ASC Activities, pending investigation, and can lead to termination of affiliation and future ineligibility.
4) Reporting Policy Violations (non-abuse)›
Report any boundary violation, unsafe practice, or Code breach to your coach/manager and the ASC Safety Officer. Early reporting prevents escalation.
5) Consequences›
- Immediate suspension during investigation for alleged prohibited acts.
- Confirmed violations may result in permanent removal from ASC Activities.
- Failure to report a prohibited act is itself a violation and may result in removal.
6) ASC Does Not Investigate Crimes in Lieu of Authorities›
ASC/FRFH will not evaluate the credibility of abuse allegations as a precondition to reporting. We comply with all mandatory reporting laws and notify governing bodies as required.
7) Response to a Report›
ASC/FRFH will act promptly to ensure safety (remove individuals from contact, adjust supervision, notify venues/partners). No retaliation against good-faith reporters.
8) Prohibited Substances & Activities›
- Intoxicants: No adult may be under the influence of alcohol/illegal drugs during ASC Activities; providing such substances to minors is prohibited.
- Tobacco/Vaping: ASC Activities are tobacco-free; no use around minors; never provide to minors.
- Nudity: Adults must never be nude in the presence of minors.
9) Sexually Oriented Conversations›
Strictly prohibited in any form (in-person or electronic). No discussions of adult relationships or sexual content with minors.
10) Sexually Oriented Materials›
Adults may not possess or display sexually oriented materials during ASC Activities.
11) Appropriate Physical Contact›
Allowed when:
- In public view;
- For athlete’s benefit (safety, instruction, brief celebration/consolation);
- With no potential for sexualized contact.
Examples (appropriate): spotting, brief side-hugs in public, high-fives/fist-bumps, helping prevent a fall, releasing cramps, “dusting off” after a fall.
12) Prohibited Physical Contact›
- Lap-sitting; lingering embraces; cuddling; playful but inappropriate touching (butt-pats, tickling, wrestling/“horseplay”);
- Hitting/slapping/kicking; punitive or coercive contact;
- Any contact continuing after an athlete requests reduced/no contact (when feasible in sport).
These prohibitions apply adult↔minor and minor↔minor. Report violations immediately; some conduct may be criminal.
13) Misconduct›
Bullying, Harassment, Hazing, Willful Tolerance of Misconduct, Peer-to-Peer Sexual Abuse are prohibited.
- Bullying: any pattern intended to harm, humiliate, or isolate.
- Harassment: discriminatory/offensive conduct (e.g., disability, race, religion, sex, gender identity).
- Hazing: coercive, humiliating, unsafe acts as a condition of membership/acceptance.
- Willful Tolerance: failing to act when aware of misconduct.
- Peer Sexual Abuse: report under mandatory reporting rules; watch high-risk contexts (locker rooms, changing areas).
14) Local & Team Travel›
Local Travel: ASC discourages one-adult/one-minor transport unless parent/guardian is present; use group pick-ups. Parental permission required where coaches/volunteers drive athletes.
Team Travel (overnight):
- Adequate adult-to-athlete supervision; rooms assigned 2–4 athletes; no mixed-sex rooming (except siblings with parent/guardian).
- No coach shares a room with a non-family athlete.
- Team meetings in common areas, not hotel rooms.
- Curfews, buddy system (≥3 athletes together in public).
- Comply with hotel/venue rules.
- Chaperones must be background-checked and cleared.
15) Electronic Communications & Social Media›
All communications must be professional and program-related.
- Email: copy a parent/guardian for minors; keep records.
- Text/DM: use group messages including another adult/parent; avoid 1:1 private texts with minors; recommended hours 8am–8pm.
- Social Media: no friending/following of minors from personal accounts; use team/public pages; no private DMs with minors.
- Imagery: game/practice photos used for legitimate team purposes only; honor any parent’s written opt-out where feasible.
Violations may result in removal from ASC Activities.
16) ASC Social Media Guidelines›
All representatives (board, staff, coaches, volunteers) should:
- Be positive, factual, respectful; avoid content that could harm ASC’s reputation;
- Use good judgment—assume posts are permanent/public;
- Don’t disclose personal/identifying info without approval;
- The Board (or designee) may remove/block inappropriate posts on ASC channels.
Violations are subject to discipline under this Code.
17) Parental Contact & Involvement›
Parents/guardians will be contacted promptly for illness/injury/serious discipline. Parents must ensure timely pick-up; coaches/staff will not leave minors unsupervised.
18) Non-Discrimination›
ASC provides an inclusive, fair environment for all and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, marital/parental/financial status, or protected classifications under applicable law.
19) Sporting Behavior›
Respect referees, opponents, teammates, coaches, and spectators. No obscene/profane language, threats, or harassment. Only coaches (or designees) instruct players during matches.
20) Supervision›
Minors are not to be left unsupervised at ASC Activities. Coaches/staff remain until each child is picked up.
21) Physical Restraint›
Only used when necessary to prevent imminent harm, and then documented immediately with ASC leadership.
22) Parent Expectations›
- Model sportsmanship; no profanity/abuse/harassment.
- Respect referees/coaches; sideline instruction to your child is discouraged (avoid mixed messaging).
- Use the 24-hour rule before raising concerns post-game; urgent matters → Program Director.
- Respect bench areas and facility rules.
- Support your child unconditionally; focus on effort, learning, and wellbeing over results.
23) Player Expectations›
- Highest standards of conduct and respect; no profanity/harassment/violence.
- Be prepared and on time (gear, hydration, ball).
- Communicate with coaches about attendance; playing time is earned (commitment, attitude, development, team needs).
- Wear approved club attire; follow Laws of the Game and spirit of fair play.
- No alcohol/tobacco/drugs.
24) Coach Expectations›
- Represent ASC professionally; uphold SafeSport, concussion, background checks, and all risk-management certifications.
- Lead positive, structured training aligned to the club curriculum; provide seasonal plans; hold regular team meetings.
- Wear ASC/club apparel at activities.
- Communicate injuries promptly; maintain confidentiality.
- Never recruit ASC players to other clubs; violation may result in immediate termination.
- Follow the 24-hour communication guideline with parents after games.
- No yelling at referees; model composure and respect.
