Behavioral & Safety Policies

1. Purpose
Aledo Soccer Club is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all players, coaches, volunteers, and families. These Behavioral & Safety Policies establish the expectations and procedures to ensure the physical and emotional safety of every participant in our programs.
2. Code of Conduct (See Club Code of Conduct for additional information)
All players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and spectators are expected to:
- Demonstrate respect for referees, coaches, teammates, opponents, and spectators at all times.
- Use appropriate language; vulgar, discriminatory, or abusive language will not be tolerated.
- Promote teamwork, good sportsmanship, and positive encouragement.
- Follow directions from coaches and club officials promptly.
- Maintain a commitment to fairness, honesty, and ethical behavior both on and off the field.
3. Zero Tolerance Policy
Aledo Soccer Club maintains a zero-tolerance policy for:
- Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind.
- Violent behavior, including fighting, threats, or physical aggression.
- Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, or any other protected status.
- Drug, alcohol, or tobacco use at any Aledo SC event or facility.
Violations may result in immediate removal from the event, temporary suspension, or permanent dismissal from the club without refund.
4. Player Safety Guidelines
- All players must wear shin guards and appropriate footwear at every practice and match.
- Hydration is mandatory—players should bring water to all sessions.
- Jewelry, watches, or hard hair accessories are not allowed during training or games.
- Coaches will monitor weather conditions. In the event of lightning, extreme heat, or unsafe field conditions, sessions will be postponed or canceled.
- Players must notify their coach or trainer of any injury, discomfort, or illness immediately.
5. Concussion & Injury Policy
- Any player suspected of having a concussion will be removed from play immediately and not allowed to return until cleared by a licensed medical professional.
- Injuries during club activities must be reported to a coach or club official. An Incident Report Form must be completed within 24 hours.
6. Supervision & Drop-Off Policy
- Players must be supervised by a parent or guardian before and after practice unless prior arrangements are made.
- Coaches are only responsible for players during the official start and end times of training or matches.
- Parents must be punctual with drop-offs and pick-ups.
7. Emergency Procedures
- Coaches will carry a basic First Aid Kit and have access to emergency contacts for each player.
- In the event of a serious injury, 911 will be called immediately, followed by notification of the parent or guardian.
- All staff and volunteers are required to know the location of the nearest AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and be familiar with its use if available.
8. Reporting Concerns
- Any participant may report concerns regarding safety, misconduct, or behavior violations by emailing: safety@aledosoccerclub.com
- All concerns will be reviewed by the Safety & Conduct Committee and handled with discretion, fairness, and urgency.
9. Acknowledgment
All parents/guardians and players must acknowledge receipt and agreement to these policies by signing the Player Commitment Agreement. Coaches and volunteers must complete a Background Check and agree to the Coaches Code of Conduct.
